If a guy makes 25 an hour, he does not cost you 25 an hour. Put in the wage, your payroll tax percentage, your workers comp rate, and the hours each week that go to shop time, loading, and driving for material. It gives you your cost per billable hour, the number that belongs in every estimate you write. Most contractors land between 1.4 and 1.6 times the wage and have never seen it before. Two minutes, nothing saved, nothing sent.
